I look at my life, why do i play the guitar? I started learning when i was 15, i had the opportunity to so i took it up, looking back i think it was because all my frens in church played some instrument and it always seemed that i was the only one without any musical talent. So here i am after 3 years of learning, what do i play for? I tell myself if i ever became a musician i will become a christian musician, praising God with my music is more important than using music to praise myself. But time and time again, the thoughts in my head are different, sure i think about making music that praises God, but at the same time there are times i wish that one day i will play my guitar outside and the girl of my dreams will fall at my feet haha...is it wrong for a christian guitarist to use his skills to try and 'get a girl'? Well maybe its ok if its a christian girl but what if its a non christian girl?
Another thing about being a christian guitarist. No christian girl is ever gonna be impressed that you play the guitar. Why? Look at the guys around you in church, almost all of them play guitar or at least have some basic knowledge of the guitar, a guitarist is just as average as a pigeon, they're everywhere. Whereas in the outside world, there are not as many guitarists so they're slightly more special. What if the only thing that would make me special to any girl is my guitar playing? The chances of me being special to a non christian is higher than the chances of me being special to a christian.
I'm not trying to encourage all you christian musicians out there to go and find non christian partners. I don't know how bad it is but many christians have told me the importance of finding a christian spouse. Maybe i'll just leave this questions unanswered for another day...maybe i think too much...
Anyway here are some pictures of my guitar, its not expensive but its good enough for me right now :)

I disagree that christian girls are unimpressed by christian guys who play guitar. i think having a musical skill is always impressive :)
Agreed, Mariel =)
And it's ok to have a non Christian spouse as long as they don't forbid you from joining Christianity. If they support you, great !
